Lactate Threshold Test (60 Minutes)

What is a lactate threshold test? A lactate threshold test can be undertook for a range of disciplines, most commonly cycling and running. Each test takes place utilising a Watt-bike or treadmill and consists of an athlete completing 4 minute stages at increasing intensity, at the postponement of each interval a small sample of blood is taken from the fingertip, allowing for the measurement of blood lactate. The most important factor in a lactate threshold test is that your body gives us the results, there is no reliance on the psychology or pacing of exercise to predict exercise zones. We can therefore accurately determine your current fitness levels. How much is a test? A lactate threshold is £60, this includes the identification of your aerobic threshold (LT1) i.e. the level at which you can sustain endurance performance. Identification of anaerobic threshold (LT2), this is the point at which exercise is sustainable for approximately 1 hour and equates to true FTP. More importantly the test will identify your specific training zones such as speed, power and heart rate, taking into account your LT1 and LT2 scores. This is very important if you are looking to specifically focus on endurance/ultra based exercise or short distance. How do I book a test?
